Every year on Good Friday and Christmas Eve, my family has a traditional meal of pierogi's and fish. Pierogi's covered in butter and onions cooked in more butter. Now at Christmas, I was able to have 6 pierogi's and fish and still stay in my points range. Instead of cooking all my food in butter, I kept it separate and used spray butter instead. Wasn't quite the same taste but it was acceptable. So I dug out my points tracker from Christmas to only find that boy, was that meal a lot of points. I have a lot less points now to losing and so to eat that meal, I basically had my normal breakfast of OJ, English muffin and 2 cups coffee and then I didn't eat again until dinner so I could still have that meal. I was SO hungry but then there was my Mom who raised us to sacrifice on this day and had nothing to eat today. So I didn't complain and I was glad to be able to have the traditional dinner with my family. Thank goodness I still get a good many points. By Christmas I think I'm going to have to find a new plan of action since I hope to be down a good bit more.
The worst part of the day though was finding out before dinner that one of my uncle's was not doing well. He was in the hospital with colon cancer. My parents planned on going tomorrow to visit with him. It was my Dad's only brother and had been a few years since they've seen each other. Unfortunately, my Mom called later this evening to tell me that my Uncle Paul passed away this evening around 5. So very sad. He and my aunt had one son. My aunt made my flowers for my wedding and my uncle always made me laugh. As my Mom said, "May he now be in peace."

I'm really sorry for your loss - take care.
So sorry about your uncle. Pierogies are sooooooooooooooo good. My fav is saurkraut. Yum yum. I haven't had one in years. I hope you enjoyed every bite. For Christmas you can save your extra 35 points for that day.
