Gordon

The last few days have been ones filled with worry for our family. The other night my son came running to me telling me to call the vet that our cat, Gordon, had hurt his leg. Well, I watched him walk and he seemed fine but you could tell something might not be right. The next morning I woke up and went downstairs to find him laying on the rug in front of the tv just yelling out. You could see the pain going through his body. I immediately called my husband to call the vet and they didn't open until 9. He called right after 9 and they said to bring him in. Turns out he had a blocked urinary tract which is very common for male cats but can be deadly is something isn't done. So he had surgery that day with a cath inserted to help him. His bladder was twice the size it should have been. Needless to say, he had to stay overnight. My husband told the vets office to not call me because I was a basket case so when the phone rang yesterday morning I almost panicked answering it. Turned out he had his cath removed but because there had been some blood in it they wanted to keep him yesterday again. Well, we agreed, but let me tell you....our house was so empty without him those 2 days. We're used to him being here. He's 9 years old and we got him as a kitten. Thankfully, I went and picked him up today and he's not laying behind me. Now our house is complete again!
