Busy

It's been a busy week this week after spending a very relaxing weekend basically just swimming and relaxing. We went one evening to the neighbors while they had a fire in their pit on the deck. We ended up staying until almost midnight we were so involved in discussion. What a perfect night!

This week there seems to have been something going on every night with Weight Watchers one night, a nail appointment that was moved another and tonight we went to the steak fry at my hubby's Lion's club. It was very good but it ended up being a late night. It was also very hot in there and I have a headache now so shortly am heading to bed.

Soon the girls at Truly Inspiring and I will be doing something special so keep your eyes on the blog next week. :-)

It will be a very busy weekend with my son's bagpipe band playing 4 different places in 2 days so I probably won't be around much but I do check in if you want to leave me a message. It's nice to know SOMEONE is out there! LOL

Labor Day Weekend

Hi there!

Seems like the week was so long and tiring I just would pop in but really had nothing to blog about and was too tired to create anything to share either. Not that that has changed! LOL

Any plans for this Labor Day weekend? It's just a relaxing one here. My son is off now meeting with and staking out his Eagle project with the man who is in charge at the Lion's. This week hopefully he'll complete all the paperwork and be ready to apply for the permit so they can start building. Our next weekend is extremely busy though with the band. They will play at the Highland Games. Check it out if you get a chance. It's really a nice day. They will play at a local restaurant that night and then a church on Sunday. So we'll be very busy.

This weekend I have cleaned so far and had a fight with hubby. Seems he feels that "staying out of my way" is the best way to help me as he sat on his ass and watched me clean. Boy, was I furious! Today he's treading lightly with me. Stupid men! I still have my bedroom to clean and a Target run to make but this morning I've just been playing online. I do my best work later in the day anyhow.

Tomorrow we have no plans and I'm hoping to keep it that way. Since my house will be clean, I am hoping to just relax. I have a book I've had for a while I want to read but haven't had the time to sit and read it. It's also supposed to be in the high 80's this week so I'm hoping to get in the pool about every day even if for just a short while after work.

What are YOUR plans? I'd love to hear. Feel free to leave a comment and have a Fabulous weekend!

Band Camp

This afternoon when hubby is done with work we'll be leaving (again!) for a weekend. My son's band that he plays drums with (SHU PipeBand) do this once a year. They rent this HUGE cabin with tons of bedrooms and we all go there and spend the weekend together. Now mind you, when my son first joined I did NOT go. I relished being home alone that weekend since my hubby would go with him. Then, however, the women of the band and the wives decided that nooooooooo, they wanted me to join them! So last year I sucked it up and went. I had a wonderful time other than the shower (think very small and icky) and the fact that I wanted my bed pushed out from the walls since I saw a spider when we first got there and I didn't want him crawling on me through the night. Are you getting the idea here? I am so NOT a camper.

Now it's time again for our yearly jaunt and this year, well, I just don't want to go. I keep thinking of that icky shower even though I'll only shower once (we come home early enough Sunday that I wait until I'm home.) I also have been stressing about the food since everyone picks all weekend and that is no longer part of what I do. The other stressor is that everyone drinks heavily Sat night and again, I can't do that and watching a bunch of drunks is not fun. Lastly, the Olympics open tonight and I just want to be home watching it on my tv. Did I whine enough yet? I'm sure it will all be fine and Sunday I'll be saying what a great time I had again this year.

I'm going to leave you with a few freebies I've found and wanted to share. Have a SUPER weekend!

Degree Deodorant for Men

Always Infinity

Gillette High Performance Deep Cleaning Shampoo

Enjoy! A quick update that The Cavaliers came in 2nd last night in the quarterfinals in Bloomington, IN. I sure wish I could see it!

The Cavaliers

Last night one of my best friends and I had the opportunity to go watch the DCI band (drum and bugle) The Cavaliers. They'd performed the night before in Allentown, PA and came in 1st place. They are now practicing because finals are next week in Bloomington, IN. (My niece is going to college at IU.) You can see why they are champions because they work extremely hard and work for precision. When they are turned back field and then turn toward the stands and play....well, WOW, chills just go through my body! I know they'll do well in the finals!

Here's a picture I found online that shows some of what we saw last night. :-)
You can also go to their website for more info on this band. The Cavaliers

Good Times Good Memories

WOW! Has time flown by recently! We've been incredibly busy. On the 4th my son marched in a parade with the bagpipe band and then we had a picnic at the home of 2 of the members of the band. They are also wonderful enough to shuttle everyone back and forth to the parade from their home so you don't have to worry about parking. When we got home, my godson came over and hung out with my son while hubby and I went to our brother in laws parents to watch them set off some fireworks.

Saturday, it was finally nice enough to go to the Arts Festival. Had a few drizzles but was lucky enough that was all. We walked through most of the crafts, listened to some good music and enjoyed the food. I did buy a few new things for around the house. It really is an awesome way to spend a summer day especially with good friends.

Yesterday, hubby took our son to camp until Friday. Then we headed off to the bocce family picnic. He and I played bocce and had an awesome pair to partner with but lost our 3rd game. It was fun while it lasted.

Some other really great news the past few days has been that hubby has had a heart to heart with the new owner to be of the business he works, and his job is secure. That is a HUGE weight off our shoulders. I can't say he's still happy to be there but he knows he at least has somewhere to go every day and other options may open in the future. We also have Gordon, our cat, home with us. I took him to the vet Saturday morning and will take him back again today for another recheck. Giving him meds takes 2 of us, but everything is going much better.

One of the best things I've learned the last two weeks is that I can attend outside functions and still stay on my Weight Watchers. It's not been easy and takes so additional planning, but it works. I'm feeling good about myself that I can do that! Weigh in again tomorrow night so we'll see how it's really gone.

Hope everything is going well with YOU.
